Recently received a beautiful, handmade birthday gift from friend, @vc_photo_. Was a reminder of his thoughtfulness and creativity, and also prompted memories of our Colorado adventure a couple years ago. Thankful for friends who I can adventure and create with!

I love the people I know around here. I love the friends I’ve made—and a lot of that happened more recently. I didn’t know a lot of people in town until the floods of 2013. I spent a lot of time up here during the flood doing what I could to help out, and that made a big difference in my life. It has been about a year since I took a hiatus from Instagram (and most other social media). It was a good break, and I must say I didn’t particularly miss it. However, I’m in a new season, and am beginning to create in new ways, so thought it would be a good time to start posting now and then. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In addition to my work with @asharedhumanity (with some new things in the works), I recently joined @careconnectbc as their Director of Communications. It is a wonderful organization serving Seniors in Boulder County, and we are in the midst of exciting changes and growth. I was brought on board to lead the organization through a rename, a rebrand, and a redesign of all communications channels including the website and other media channels, as well as to strengthen the ways we invite the community into our story. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s a great opportunity and challenge, and I’d love for you to follow along as we walk through the rebrand process over the coming months. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One project we started @careconnectbc is a connected series of portraits in which we ask a member of the Boulder County community to sit for a portrait and answer a question. They then provide the next question that will be asked of the next person we meet. Waiting for the train in Ossining, NY. In contrast to the frantic pace of life in the city, Ossining is a quiet, sleepy town along the Hudson River an hour's train ride north of Manhattan...it's quite refreshing to slow down and rest outside the city.
